COMMUNITY CARE LOTTO: The numbers drawn for the Lotto of the 1st June were 4,6,11,15. There was no jackpot winner of €5,600. Two €50 winners were Eamon Gaynor, Lerrig North and Kelly Flaherty, Baltovin. Numbers were drawn by Jerry O Leary.
KILMOYLEY INSECT INN OFFICIAL OPENING: All wildlife and insect enthusiasts young and old are invited to the official opening of Kilmoyley’s newest attraction- The Kilmoyley Insect Inn. This elaborate structure has been constructed by the Tidy Towns Team to create an insect habitat at Lerrig Lough. The official opening takes place at 3pm this Friday and all young insect enthusiasts are invited to bring any insects along with them to check into the hotel!!! Catherine O Sullivan -local wildlife expert will address the opening, sharing her knowledge of mini beasts / insects with all present.
SYMPATHY: Sympathy is extended to Danny and Kay Roche on the death of Danny’s Father, David Roche who died during the week. May he rest in peace.
OLD GRAVEYARD MASS: Mass will take place on Thursday 18th June at 8.15 at the Old Graveyard Kilmoyley.

5K/10K FUN RUN-WALK: Tidy Towns Kilmoyley will host its annual 5KM and 10KM Fun Run/Walk on Sunday 28th June 2015. This is a wonderful family occasion and now is just the time to put on the runners and get in shape for the 5km event or even the 10km challenge. There will be an opportunity to meet up with friends after the run/walk and enjoy well-earned refreshments in the Community Care Centre.
NATIONAL SCHOOL NEWS: Sports Day – A great day of fun was enjoyed by the pupils of Kilmoyley National School at their annual school sports day held on Wednesday. There was a variety of activities for the children in the Junior Classes to engage in from “Parachute Games”, “Traditional Playground Games”, “Ball Games” and “Novelty Races”. The children in the Senior Classes participated in a hurling/camogie skills competition which was co-ordinated by Declan Lovett and John Martin Brick. Daire Nolan, Cillian Monahan, Ronan Walsh, Ruth O’ Connor and Darragh Corridon were awarded prizes for winning the skills competition.
School Tour – The pupils enjoyed a great school tour with Eco-Adventure Ireland at their base in Killarney on Thursday. They participated in Survival Training, Paintball Shooting, Scavenger Hunt, Trust Walk and Co-operative games involving teamwork.
Jersey Day – National “Wear your favourite jersey day, was supported in style by the school. The children sported their favourite jersey bringing a splash of colour to the school and quite a few counties were represented. Thank you to the parents for your support and encouragement.
CAMPA SAMHRAIDH/SUMMER CAMP: Ógras, the oldest Irish language youth organisation, will run a Summer Camp at Ballyheigue Community Centre from July 27th to 31st to encourage young people aged 7 to 14 to practise their Irish in a fun environment. Camp will run from 10 to 2.30 with a trip on Thursday. Participants will engage in a wide range of activities including conversational practise, hurling, football, soccer, basketball, hockey, volleyball, badminton, tennis, drama, music, table quiz and art. Cost is €50 for first participant and €45 for second and subsequent participants. €30 deposit secures a place.
