COMMUNITY CARE LOTTO:  The numbers drawn for the Lotto of the 2nd November were 1,18,19,23. Numbers were drawn by Richard Gentleman.  There was no jackpot winner of €7,800.  Two €50 winners were Anne O Sullivan, and David McKenna, Kilmoyley.  Community Centre bookings 087-1611720.

KILMOYLEY NATIONAL SCHOOL NEWS:  Shoe Box Appeal – Many thanks to the parents and children for their generous response to the “Shoe Box Appeal”.  The gift filled shoe boxes will be sent to needy children in communities, schools, hospitals and orphanages all over Eastern Europe.  Your shoe boxes full of gifts will make a child not only very excited and happy but also valued and special.

Lenrec Recycling – A big thank you to parents and pupils for helping the school raise funds by taking the time and making the effort to bring in bags of clothing and old mobile phones for recycling.  These items will be exchanged for funds for the school.

Art Competition – Congratulations to Mai O’ Connor and Kate Mckenna, pupils in second class who won prizes for their drawings in an art competition promoted by the Sacred Heart Messenger.  The theme of the art competition was My Family.

CHRISTMAS CRAFT FAIR KILMOYLEY NS – On Saturday 5th December Kilmoyley National School will be hosting a Craft Fair, just in time for Christmas! The event will commence at 11am at the Community Care Centre.    Festive shoppers will have the perfect opportunity to purchase unique and affordable creative presents sourced from the local arts scene.  Artisans and crafters are invited to contact the school to book a stall where they can display their wares.  All forms of art and crafts are welcome-home baking, jams, garden plants, woodturning, knitting, pottery, photography, paintings, jewellery, basketwork and candles. It’s a wonderful opportunity for artists and crafters to showcase their produce. JC Scale Model farm toys will have an exhibition on the day, as will Shane Brick Hurley’s Limited; you will have an opportunity to purchase Kilmoyley G.A.A. merchandise-always a very popular Christmas gift.  Other stalls already booked will display floral arrangements, jewellery, knitted goods, cheesecakes, cupcakes and specialty cakes.  You will be licking your lips at all the choices available to you.  Donal Dowling will be present with a selection of charming and delightful photographs of the locality.  The Kilmoyley Craft Fair is the one stop shop for all your Christmas goodies-Beautiful Pine scented Christmas Trees and decorated Wreaths will be available, hand crafted sugán chairs, stone sculptures, handmade Greeting Cards for that special occasion, a wide selection of Usborne Books and the aroma of delicious mulled wine to lift your spirits.  While the Craft Fair is a fund raising event for Scoil Naomh Eirc, school principal Áine Crowe sees it more as an occasion to celebrate all that is good, wholesome and outstanding in the parish.  A warm invitation is extended to one and all.  It’s your presence that will make the craft fair memorable and special.  There will be a special guest on the day also.  Santa Claus will be taking time out of his busy schedule to meet and greet children young and young at heart!  Santa is due to arrive in style at 11a.m.  So book your stall for 20 euro either by calling to the school or contacting the school on (066) 7133376 (sterc@eircom.net).

GOLF SOCIETY OUTING AND UPCOMING PRIZE GIVING:  Results from outing to Ceann Sibeal Golf Club which was kindly sponsored by Denis and Margaret Foley of  An Tochar Ban – 1st  J.J. McElligott.  2nd Seanie Horan.  3rd Nicky Cooke.  Longest drive Maurice Quane.  Section B winner Maurice Quane.  Draw on the night went to Tony Flaherty.  Prize-giving for this event will take place at An Tochar Ban on this Saturday night 14th November.  All golfers and non-golfers welcome.
